I first remember reading this book in the late 90's, it was very relevant and important advice that I needed in my life. I found comfort in the stories and insights garnered from this short but powerful read. Years later I picked up a deck of beautifully illustrated cards from the Four Agreements. I have kept both the book and the deck of cards for many years. Now they rest in boxes in the storage unit of my life as I embark on this incredible journey of traveling for healing and learning.
While in Bali during a 200 Hour Active Consciousness Meditation Teacher Training Don Miguel Ruiz was once again brought to the forefront of my mind in our Class. This time twenty some years after the first time I read it. It touched me in a different way this time. I am thankful that these simple and yet oh so powerful teachings were brought to my attention with intention again. We all laid down closed our eyes and listened to the reading of several different chapters. I highly recommend this way of feeling and listening to the book. In life we prize ourselves on our abilities to multi task. Do yourself a favor and allow yourself to slow down and just be. Just "be" with the stories. "Be" calm, "be" present and allow a shift in perspective.
The Photo above was taken at Yogi's Garden in Bali. I walked this path every day as I was learning and unlearning at the same time. Forever grateful to my fellow Student Teachers and to Punnu Singh Wasu for his dedication to his students.
